Welsh banding continued its unstoppable domination of the UK banding scene when Seindorf Beaumaris Youth became the latest outfit from the Principality to take a National title after they were crowned 2014 Action Medical Research Youth Entertainment Champions on Sunday evening in Blackpool.

Celtic inspired brilliance

Performing tenth out of the eleven competing bands, their Celtic inspired programme, arranged for the day by MD, Gwyn M Evans, was one of enormous maturity and musicianship, so much so, that it left audience members shaking their heads in disbelief at the quality of the performance they'd been listening too.

Carnival de Beaumaris

In addition to having the best euphonium section, their other individual award came in the form of sixteen year old cornet player, Pippa Scourse, who brought people to their feet after her rendition of 'Carnival of Venice'.

Not three in four

Victory for the North Walians denied the defending champion, Youth Brass 2000 not just their sixth title at the event, but what would have been the bands third contest victory in four weeks after Chris Jeans' outfit had delivered a terrific Irish themed programme.

Third place was awarded to Elland Silver Youth and Samantha Harrison for its party theme whilst Rochdale Borough Youth claimed fourth spot overall.
