There will be a fine turn out of competitors for this year's New Zealand Championships in New Plymouth.

4BR has been informed that entries have now closed for the 2013 New Zealand National Brass Band Championships which take place in New Plymouth, situated on the west coast of the North Island between the 17th—21st July.

30 bands

A fine entry of 30 bands will compete in five graded sections with the usual excellent turn out of performers all vying to claim the various National Solo & Ensemble titles on offer.

The first two days will be taken up with the solo and ensemble competitions before the bands take centre stage for their set test and own choice selections as well as the ever popular street march contest.

Entertainment

The event concludes with the annual entertainment contest. The chief adjudicator this year is internationally renowned composer Stephen Bulla.
