John Maines takes over the baton at Soundhouse Brass
4BR has been informed that John Maines has accepted the position of Musical Director of Soundhouse Brass in Plymouth.
Short notice
With former MD David Shead recently moving to take up a position with the Oman National Orchestra, John stepped in to lead the band at the recent Weston Super Mare contest, at only two weeks notice.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The players immediately responded to John’s experience and enthusiasm and we are delighted that he has agreed to take on the position of MD.
With John’s help the players hope to return to competitive contesting and building upon its reputation as a fine concert band."
