Brass Explosion

There was a wonderful launch of the new Yamaha Neo at John Packer's brand new Brass Cave in Taunton on the weekend.

Musicians from all over the country converged on John Packer Ltd in Taunton on the weekend, as the company launched their brand new brass showroom.

New additions

The fantastic new addition now gives customers the opportunity to get their hands on a huge range of student and professional level instruments, from makers including Bach, Besson, Conn, Courtois, Holton, JP, King, Mauriat, Rath, Schagerl, Schilke, Smith-Watkins, Sterling, Stomvi, Yamaha and many more.

International trumpet star Andy Crowley, who has performed on the soundtrack of the last three James Bond movies as well as many other cinema blockbusters, joined the John Packer team for the day.

Brilliant

He gave some brilliant free 1-2-1 tuition to aspiring brass players—amongst them, 9 year old Ted Brooks (pictured below) from Taunton, who only started playing the cornet last September.

With his parents, he was one of many keen young players who came along to experience what John Packer has to offer—and to enjoy a great lesson too!

Eye catching

With plenty of activities available for the whole family, many visitors entered the ‘longest note competition’, which was highly contested on John Packer’s eye catching twin bell trumpet.

Entrants tried their hand at winning a £25 John Packer gift voucher, with a delighted, if slightly breathless winner, Laura Wormington, achieving an impressive 46 seconds!

Brass Cave

The launch marked the opening of the new showroom, dubbed the ‘Brass Cave’ which is now open for players to come and try a variety of new instruments.

The ‘Brass Cave’ will host a range of new, ex- demo and client sale euphoniums, basses, baritones, flugel and tenor horns, which will in turn allow more space through the shop for an increased range of trumpets, cornet and trombones.

Thanks

Jon Machen, Marketing Coordinator told 4BR: "The whole team at John Packer would like to take the opportunity to thank Andy Crowley and Yamaha for their support on the day and wish them all the best as they launch their new Yamaha Neo Range."
